RESOLUTION
GRANTING THE LIMITED VISA EXEMPTION TO CITIZENS FROM SUCH COUNTRIES AS THE RUSSIA FEDERATION, JAPAN, THE REPUBLIC OF KOREA, THE KINGDOM OF DENMARK, THE KINGDOM OF NORWAY, THE KINGDOM OF SWEDEN AND THE REPUBLIC OF FINLAND
THE GOVERNMENT
Pursuant to the Law on Government Organization dated December 25, 2001;
Pursuant to the Law on Immigration, Emigration, Transit and Residence of foreigners in Vietnam dated June 16, 2014;
Subject to the outcome of a discussion amongst the Government Cabinet members and the Prime Minister’s conclusion drawn in the regular session of the Government opened in September 2014,
HEREBY RESOLVES
Article 1. to grant visa exemption to citizens from such countries as the Russia Federation, Japan, the Republic of Korea, the Kingdom of Denmark, the Kingdom of Norway, the Kingdom of Sweden and the Republic of Finland upon immigration to Vietnam with the temporary resident period of fewer than 15 days from the entry date, irrespective of passport types and immigration purposes, on the basis of fulfillment of regulatory requirements prescribed in Vietnam's laws.
Article 2. that the immigrant visa exemption policy of Vietnam applied to the citizens referred to in Article 1 hereof be implemented within a prescribed 5-year period from January 1, 2015 to end of December 31, 2019, and be revised or extended in accordance with Vietnam's laws.
Article 3. that this Resolution enter into force from the signature date, and replace preexisting regulations on visa exemption for the citizens referred to in Article 1 hereof.
Article 4. Ministers, Heads of Ministerial-level agencies, Government bodies, and Presidents of the People’s Committees of centrally-affiliated cities or provinces, be held responsible for enforcing this Resolution.
