DECISION
ANNOUNCING THE LIST AND QUANTITY OF SEA-GOING VESSELS TO BE DOMESTICALLY BUILT IN 2001
THE MINISTER OF COMMUNICATIONS AND TRANSPORT
Pursuant to the Governments Decree No. 22/CP
of March 22, 1994 on the tasks, powers, State management responsibilities and organizational
structure of the Ministry of Communications and Transport;
Pursuant to Item 3, Article 5 of the Governments Decree No. 99/1998/ND-CP of
November 28, 1998 on the management of sea-going vessel purchase and sale;
Pursuant to the Prime Ministers Decision No. 117/2000/QD-TTg of October 10,
2000 on a number of financial policies and mechanisms for shipbuilding projects
of the Vietnam shipbuilding industry;
At the proposals of the Director of Legal - Transport Department and the
Director of Science-Technology Department,
DECIDES:
Article 1.- To announce together with this Decision the list and quantity of sea-going vessels to be domestically built in 2001. Assorted sea-going vessels outside the list announced herein may be imported according to the current regulations.
Article 2.- When there arises any change in demand and actual development of the Vietnams sea-going vessel fleet, as well as in the shipbuilding capability of ship yards, the Ministry of Transport and Communication shall announce the supplements to or readjustment of the list and quantity of sea-going vessels to be domestically built in 2001.
Article 3.- This Decision takes effect 15 days after its signing.
Article 4.- The director of the Ministrys Office and the heads of the concerned agencies and units shall have to implement this Decision.

Note:
- The types of ship with their quantity not inscribed in the above list can be built by domestic ship yards at their full capacities to satisfy the market demand.
- The quantity of general cargo vessels of a tonnage of 6,500 tons is determined according to shipbuilding capacity by March, 2001.-
