DECISION

PROMULGATING THE REGULATION ON OPERATION NETWORKS OF COMMERCIAL BANKS

THE STATE BANK GOVERNOR

Pursuant to the 1997 Law on the State Bank of Vietnam and the 2003 Law Amending and Supplementing a Number of Article of the Law on the State Bank of Vietnam;
Pursuant to the 1997 Law on Credit Institutions and the 2004 Law Amending and Supplementing a Number of Article of the Law on Credit Institutions;
Pursuant to the Government’s Decree No. 52/2003/ND-CP dated May 19, 2003, defining the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of the State Bank of Vietnam;
Pursuant to the Government’s Decree No. 49/2000/ND-CP dated September 12, 2000, on organization and operation of commercial bank;
Pursuant to the Government’s Decree No. 22/2006/ND-CP dated February 28, 2006, on organization and operation of foreign bank branches, joint-venture banks, banks with 100% foreign capital and representative offices of foreign credit institutions in Vietnam;
At the proposal of the director of the Department for Banks and Non-bank Credit Institutions.

DECIDES:

Article 1.

-To promulgate together with this Decision the Regulation on operation networks of commercial banks.

Article 2.

- This Decision takes effect 15 days after its publication in "CONGBAO".

The State Bank Governor’s Decision No. 888/2005/QD-NHNN dated June 16, 2005, promulgating the Regulation on opening, setting up, and termination of operation of, transaction bureaus, branches, representative offices and non-business units of commercial banks, Decision No. 1090/2003/QD-NHNN dated September 17, 2003, promulgating the Regulation on opening and termination of operation of, transaction bureaus, branches, transaction offices of joint-venture banks in Vietnam and Article 32 of the Regulation on the grant of licenses for the establishment and operation of joint-stock commercial banks promulgated together with the State Bank Governor’s Decision No. 24/2007/QD-NHNN dated June 7, 2007, cease to be effective.

Article 3.

- The director of the Office, the director of the Department for Banks and Non-Bank Credit Institutions, heads of concerned units under the State Bank, directors of the State Bank’s branches in provinces and centrally run cities, and chairmen of Boards of Directors and general directors (directors) of commercial banks shall implement this Decision.
