DECISION
AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING DECISION NO. 2451/QD-TTG DATED DECEMBER 27, 2011 OF THE PRIME MINISTER ON APPROVING SCHEME ON DIGITIZATION OF TRANSMISSION, TERRESTRIAL TELEVISION BROADCASTING BY 2020
THE PRIME MINISTER
Pursuant to the December 25, 2001 Law on organization of Government;
Pursuant to the November 23, 2009 Law on telecommunication;
Pursuant to the November 23, 2009 Law on Radio frequency;
Pursuant to Decision No. 22/2009/QD-TTg dated February 16, 2009 of the Prime Minister on approving the Planning for radio and television broadcasting by 2020;
At the proposal of the head of Steering Board of Scheme on digitization of Vietnam television, Minister of Information and Communications,
DECIDES:
Article 1. To amend and supplement point b, Clause 4, section V, Article 1 of Decision no. 2451/QD-TTg dated December 27, 2011 of the Prime Minister on approving scheme on digitization of transmission, terrestrial television broadcasting by 2020 as follows:
“b) All televisions produced or imported for use in Vietnam must be compatible with digital terrestrial television based on MPEG-4 audio and video coding standard according to catalogues and specific durations which are decided by the Steering Board of digitization of Vietnam television in line with actual conditions.”
Article 2. This Decision takes effect on the day of its signing.
Article 3. Ministers, Heads of ministerial-level agencies, Heads of Governmental agencies, chairpersons of provincial/municipal People’s Committees, the General Director of Vietnam Television, General Directors and Directors of the enterprises that product or import televisions, digital terrestrial television receivers shall implement this Decision.
