DECISION

PROMULGATING THE LIST OF PLANT VARIETIES SUBJECT TO QUALITY STANDARD ANNOUNCEMENT

THE MINISTER OF AGRICULTURE AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT

Pursuant to the Ordinance on Goods Quality of December 24, 1999;
Pursuant to the Government's Decree No. 73/CP of November 1, 1995 defining the functions, tasks, powers and organizational apparatus of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development;
Pursuant to the Government's Decree No. 07/CP of February 5, 1996 on the management of plant varieties;
Pursuant to the Government's Decree No. 86/CP of December 8, 1995 on the division of responsibilities of State management over goods quality;
At the proposals of the director of the Department for Agricultural and Forestry Promotion and the director of the Department for Sciences, Technologies and Product Quality,

DECIDES:

Article 1.- To promulgate together with this Decision the list of plant varieties subject to quality standard announcement.

Article 2.- In each period, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development shall adjust the names of plant varieties on the above-said list in order to meet the production and business service demands.

Article 3.- This Decision takes effect 15 days after its publication in the Official Gazette.

Article 4.- The director of the Ministry's Office, the director of the Department for Agricultural and Forestry Promotion, the director of the Department for Sciences, Technologies and Product Quality, the directors of the Agriculture and Rural Development Services of the provinces and centrally-run cities, the heads of the concerned agencies as well as domestic and foreign organizations and individuals, which are engaged in activities related to plant varieties production and trading in Vietnam, shall have to implement this Decision.

LIST OF PLANT VARIETIES SUBJECT TO QUALITY STANDARD ANNOUNCEMENT

A. FOOD PLANTS

1. Rice: Production and business rice varieties.

2. Maize: Production and business maize varieties.

B. INDUSTRIAL PLANTS AND FRUIT TREES

1. Peanut: Production and business peanut varieties.

2. Soybean: Production and business soybean varieties.

3. Tea plant: Cuttings of LDP1, LDP2 and Shan varieties.

4. Cashew: Cashew varieties multiplied by grafting method.

5. Coffee shrub: Varieties of robusta coffee and arabica coffee, multiplied by seeding and grafting.

6. Mango tree: GL1, GL2 and GL6 mango varieties, Hoa Loc mango, Chu mango, multiplied by grafting method.

7. Longan: Varieties of Long longan, Cui longan, Cui Diec longan, Duong Phen longan, Tieu Da Bo longan, Tieu La Bau longan, Xuong Com Vang longan, multiplied by grafting and layering methods.

8. Litchi: Thanh Ha (Thanh Son) and Phu Ho litchi varieties, multiplied by grafting and layering methods.

9. Durian: Moon Thoong and RI6 durian varieties, sterile-seeded Com Vang durian, multiplied by grafting method.

10. Pulasan: Java pulasan-variety tree, Longan pulasan, multiplied by grafting method.

11. Citrus (multiplied by grafting and layering methods)

- Orange: Sanh orange, Xa Doai orange, Song Con orange.

- Mandarin: Tieu mandarin, Duong mandarin.

- Grapefruit: Dien grapefruit, Suu grapefruit, Bang Luan (Doan Hung) grapefruit, Phuc Trach grapefruit, Thanh Tra grapefruit, Nam Roi grapefruit, Duong La Cam grapefruit, Da Xanh grapefruit.

12. Pineapple: Cayen and Queen pineapple varieties, multiplied by shoot-separating and striking methods.

13. Mangosteen: Mangosteen varieties.

C. VEGETABLES

1. Kohlrabi: Production and business Kohlrabi seeds.

2. Radish: Production and business radish seeds.

3. Cabbage: Production and business cabbage seeds.

4. Tomato: Production and business tomato seeds.

5. Cucumber: Production and business cucumber seeds.

6. Watermelon: Freely pollinated watermelon seeds and hybridized watermelon seeds.
