To: Ho Chi Minh city’s Department of Health
Upon receipt of the Official Letter No. 8645/SYT-NVY dated November 18, 2021 of the Department of Health of Ho Chi Minh city that proposes the pilot reduction in the concentrated isolation period to 07 days for F0 cases that have no clinical symptoms, have been fully vaccinated and receive negative test results on the 7th day of the isolation period, the Ministry of Health is giving the following advice:
Currently, as the COVID-19 epidemic situation in Ho Chi Minh city is still complicated, in order to adapt to the new situation and ensure safety and flexibility in accordance with local conditions and resources, the Ministry of Health requests the Department of Health, based on the level of the epidemic and response capacity, to pilot the reduction of the concentrated isolation period to 07 days for asymptomatic F0 cases who have received 2 vaccine shots and been tested negative on day 7.
At the end of the period of isolation at the receiving treatment facilities, it is recommended that health follow-up monitoring at home is required according to the provisions of Section VII. Hospital discharge and infection prevention instructions stated in the Guidelines for diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19 issued under Decision No. 4689/QD-BYT dated October 6, 2021 of the Ministry of Health should be followed.
It is requested that the Department of Health of Ho Chi Minh city implements, monitors, evaluates results of implementation of the Ministry of Health’s guidance stated above, and submit monthly performance assessment reports to the Ministry of Health for any proper modification./.
