With a view to implementing direction of the Government at point a, paragraph 2 of the Resolution No. 18/NQ-CP dated 6 April 2010 on solutions to ensure macro-economic stability, not allow high rate of inflation and achieve economic growth rate of about 6.5% in the year 2010; the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued the Decision No. 1899/QD-BCT on 16 April 2010 on the List of inessential imported goods items, consumer commodities of which the import is not encouraged. The State Bank of Vietnam hereby requires:

1. Credit Institutions to consider, strictly control and restrict the provision of foreign currency loans for making payment for the import of goods items belonging to the List of inessential imported goods items, consumer commodities of which the import is not encouraged, issued in conjunction with the Decision No. 1899/QD-BTC dated 16 April 2010 of Minister of Industry and Trade.

2. State Bank branches in provinces, cities shall carry out the supervision over the lending in foreign currency in line with provisions of applicable laws, policy of the Government and instructions of the State Bank of Vietnam.
