Respectfully to: Establishments conducting the radiation work
In accordance with Article 20 of Law on atomic energy about “Reports on the actual state of safety of radiation job performance”, in order to make report 2013 on the national work of ensuring radiation and nuclear safety, the Vietnam Agency for Radiation and Nuclear Safety requests organizations and individuals conducting the radiation work (hereinafter abbreviated to establishments) for performing:
- Report on actual state of safety management 2013 of establishments according to the form at the enclosed appendix.
- Reports are sent to the Vietnam Agency for Radiation and Nuclear Safety before December 05, 2013 (address: the Vietnam Agency for Radiation and Nuclear Safety, 14th floor, 113 Tran Duy Hung, Cau Giay district, Hanoi city, and send soft documents (e-file) to the email: [email protected] for summarization.
To be convenient in making reports, establishments may download model file from website of the Vietnam Agency for Radiation and Nuclear Safety at address: http://varans.vn, notification box.
The Vietnam Agency for Radiation and Nuclear Safety requests establishments to strictly implement the above request.

- The work of ensuring radiation safety, measures to ensure security of radioactive sources when carry out the taking of radioactivity photos on spot;
- Implementation of reporting to the local Departments of science and technology at locations of taking radioactivity photos in localities managed by the respective provincial Departments;
- The radiation safety measures during transporting sources; the reporting regime after transport under conditions of licenses;
- The work of maintenance of tomography devices.
6. Geological, physical exploration of drilling wells
- Measures conducted to ensure radiation safety when performing job on spot;
- Measures for prevention of dropping the source in the exploring drilling hole.
7. Industrial irradiation
- Measures to control security, control persons who trespass the irradiation room while equipment is operating;
- The work of maintenance of irradiation devices.
8. Analyzing fluorescence of X ray
- Measures for zoning and safe supervision at zone where radioactive sources and radiation equipment are placed, measures to ensure security of radioactive sources (only applicable to establishments using radioactive sources):
9. Production and processing of radioactive substances
- The work of management of radioactive wastes that generate during production;
- Control of radioactive contamination;
- Quantity of radioisotopes produced in year.
10. Trading in radioactive source (purchase and sale, export and import, transport of source)
- The work of ensuring radiation safety during transport of source;
- The work of receipt and handing over of radioactive sources during the course of service implementation;
- Quantity of radioactive sources (sealed sources), total radioactivity (open sources) which are exported and imported in year;
11. Service of storing radioactive source
- Measures to ensure security, conduct inventory for radioactive sources at warehouse;
- The work of receipt of radioactive sources for storage in warehouses;

In case of radiation workers as prescribed at Clause 1 Article 28 of Law on atomic energy 2008, it is required to supply additional information about certificate of workers who do special radiation job or certificate of radiation worker.
- Statistic Information at columns 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13 (the establishments must take responsibility for reading of radiation dose meters). In case where result of reading radiation dose meters for the fourth time in year is not available, the establishments are responsible for supplementing result.
- Column 13: to write clearly time of starting and ending job of the radiation workers at establishments if they do not work continuously or have just received job in year.
