RESOLUTION
PRESCRIBING THE LIST OF MINISTRIES AND MINISTERIAL-LEVEL AGENCIES OF THE GOVERNMENT
THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY OF THE SOCIALIST REPUBLIC OF VIETNAM
Pursuant to Article 84 and Article 114 of the 1992
Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, which was amended and
supplemented under Resolution No. 51/2001/NQ-QH10 bổ sung điều của Hiến pháp nước cộng hoà xã hội chủ nghĩa Việt Nam năm 1992">51/2001/QH10 of December 25, 2001 of the Xth
National Assembly, the 10th session; Article 2 of the Law on Organization of
the National Assembly; Article 2 of the Law on Organization of the Government;
and Article 15 of the Regulations on National Assembly sessions;
Pursuant to the Prime Minister’s Report No. 38/CP-TCCB of July 26, 2002 proposing the
National Assembly to decide on the organizational structure of the Government,
RESOLVES:
I. Ministries and ministerial-level agencies of the government of the socialist republic of vietnam include:
A. Ministries:
1. The Ministry of Defense;
2. The Ministry of Public Security;
3. The Ministry for Foreign Affairs;
4. The Ministry of Justice;
5. The Ministry of Finance;
6. The Ministry of Trade;
7. The Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs;
8. The Ministry of Communications and Transport;
9. The Ministry of Construction;
10. The Ministry of Aquatic Resources;
11. The Ministry of Culture and Information;
12. The Ministry of Education and Training;
13. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development;
14. The Ministry of Industry;
15. The Ministry of Planning and Investment;
16. The Ministry of Health;
17. The Ministry of Science and Technology;
18. The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment;
19. The Ministry of Post and Telecommunications;
20. The Ministry of the Interior.
B. Ministerial-level agencies:
1. The State Inspectorate;
2. The State Bank;
3. The Committee for Physical Training and Sports;
4. The Nationalities Committee;
5. The Committee for Population, Family and Children;
6. The Government’s Office.
II. The functions, tasks and powers of some ministries or ministerial-level agencies already prescribed in the current laws or ordinances shall, due to the change in their organizational structures under this Resolution, be transferred to the corresponding ministries or ministerial-level agencies as from the date such agencies are re-organized.
III. The Government shall specify the functions, tasks and powers of the ministries and ministerial-level agencies in order to raise the effectiveness and efficiency of the operation of the ministries, ministerial-level agencies and the Government.
This Resolution was adopted by the XIth National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam at the August 5, 2002 meeting of its first session.
