RESOLUTION

ADJUSTMENTS TO ADMINISTRATIVE BOUNDARY OF BEN CAT DISTRICT TO ESTABLISH BEN CAT TOWN; ADJUSTMENT TO ADMINISTRATIVE BOUNDARY OF TAN UYEN DISTRICT TO ESTABLISH TAN UYEN TOWN AND 16 WARDS OF BEN CAT TOWN, TAN UYEN TOWN, THUAN AN TOWN, AND THU DAU MOT CITY, BINH DUONG PROVINCE

THE GOVERNMENT

Pursuant to the Law on Government organization dated December 25, 2001;

At the request of the Minister of Internal Affairs and the President of the People’s Committee of Binh Duong province,

DECIDES:

Article 1, Adjustments to administrative boundary of Ben Cat district to establish Ben Cat town and 5 wards of Ben Cat town; adjustment to administrative boundary of Tan Uyen district to establish Tan Uyen Town and 6 wards of Tan Uyen town; establishment of 2 wards of Thuan An town and 3 wards of Thu Dau Mot city, Binh Duong province,

1, Adjustment of administrative boundary of Ben Cat district to establish Ben Cat town and 5 wards of Ben Cat town,

a) Ben Cat town is established by adjusting 23,442.24 of natural area and the population of 203,420 of Ben Cat district, including the total of natural areas and populations of My Phuoc township and 7 communes: Thoi Hoa, Tan Dinh, Hoa Loi, Chanh Phu Hoa, An Dien, Phu An, and An Tay; the other Ben Cat district is now called Bau Bang district.

Ben Cat town has a natural area of 23,442.24 hectares, a population of 203,420, and 08 administrative units at commune-level.

Ben Cat town is surrounded by Bac Tan Uyen district and Tan Uyen town to the east, Ho Chi Minh City to the west, Thu Dau Mot City to the south, Bau Band district and Dau Tieng district to the North.

b) Establishment of 5 wards of Ben Cat town:

- My Phuoc ward is established from the whole natural area of 2,150.81 hectares and population of 45,075 of My Phuoc township.

My Phuoc ward is surrounded by Chanh Phu Hoa ward to the east, An Dien commune to the west, Thoi Hoa ward to the south, Lai Hung commune and Long Nguyen commune to the North.

- Thoi Hoa ward is established from the whole natural area of 3,793.01 hectares and population of 38,780 of Thoi Hoa commune.

Thoi Hoa ward has a natural area of 3,793.01 hectares and a population of 38,780.

Thoi Hoa ward is surrounded by Hoa Loi ward to the east, Phu An commune and An Dien commune to the west, Tan Dinh ward to the south, My Phuoc ward and Chanh Phu Hoa ward to the North.

- Tan Dinh ward is established from the whole natural area of 1,662.13 hectares and population of 26,354 of Tan Dinh commune.

Tan Dinh ward has a natural area of 1,662.13 hectares and a population of 26,354.

Tan Dinh ward is surrounded by Hoa Loi ward to the east, Phu An commune to the west, Tan Dinh ward to the south, My Phuoc ward and Chanh Phu Hoa ward to the North.

- Hoa Loi ward is established from the whole natural area of 1,690.37 hectares and population of 30,691 of Hoa Loi commune.

Hoa Loi ward is surrounded by Thu Dau Mot City and Tan Uyen town to the east, Thoi Hoa ward and Tan Dinh ward to the west, Thu Dau Mot City to the south, and Chanh Phu Hoa ward to the North.

- Chanh Phu Hoa ward is established from the whole natural area 4,633.42 hectares and population of 17,009 of Chanh Phu Hoa commune.

Chanh Phu Hoa ward has a natural area of 4,633.42 hectares and a population of 17,009.

Chanh Phu Hoa ward is surrounded by Tan Uyen town and Bac Tan Uyen district to the east, Lai Hung commune and My Phuoc ward to the west, Hoa Loi ward and Thoi Hoa ward to the south, Tan Hung commune and Hung Hoa commune to the North.

c) Bau Bang district has a natural area of 33,915.69 hectares, a population of 82,024, and 7 administrative units at commune-level.

Bau Bang district is surrounded Phu Giao district to the east, Dau Tieng district to the west, Ben Cat town to the south, and Binh Phuoc province to the North.

2. Adjustment of administrative boundary of Tan Uyen district to establish Tan Uyen town and 6 wards of Tan Uyen town.

a) Tan Uyen town is established by adjusting 19,249.20 of natural area and the population of 190,564 of Tan Uyen district, including the total of natural areas and populations of Uyen Hung township, Tan Phuoc Khanh township, Thai Hoa township and 7 communes: Thanh Phuoc, Tan Hiep, Khanh Binh, Hoi Nghia, Vinh Tan, Phu Chanh, Tan Vinh Hiep, Thanh Hoi, Bach Dang; the other Tan Uyen district is now called Bac Tan Uyen district.

Tan Uyen town has a natural area of 19,249.20 hectares, a population of 190,564, and 12 administrative units at commune-level.

Tan Uyen town is surrounded by Dong Nai Province to the east, Thu Dau Mot City and Ben Cat town to the west, Di An town, Thuan An town, and Dong Nai province to the south, and Bac Tan Uyen district to the north.

b) Establishment of 6 wards of Tan Uyen town:

- Uyen Hung ward is established from the whole natural area of 3,368.53 hectares and population of 19,439 of Uyen Hung township.

Uyen Hung is surrounded by Dat Cuoc commune and Tan My commune to the east, Tan Hiep ward and Khanh Binh ward to the west, Vinh Cuu district of Dong Nai province to the south, Hoi Nghia commune and Tan Lap commune to the north.

- Tan Phuoc Khanh ward is established from the whole natural area of 1,013.75 hectares and population 28,062 of Tan Phuoc Khanh township.

Tan Phuoc Khanh ward is surrounded by Thai Hoa ward and Khanh Binh ward to the east, Thuan An town and Thu Dau Mot City to the west, Thuan An town to the south, and Tan Vinh Hiep commune to the North.

- Thai Hoa ward is established from the whole natural area of 1,143.39 hectares and population of 29,693 of Thai hoa Township.

Thai Hoa ward is surrounded by Thanh Phuoc ward to the east, Tan Phuoc Khanh ward and Thuan An town to the west, Di An town, Thuan An town and Bien Hoa City - Dong Nai province to the south, Khanh Binh ward and Tan Phuoc Khanh ward to the North.

- Thanh Phuoc ward is established from the whole natural area of 805.64 hectares and population of 8,147 of Thanh Phuoc commune.

Thanh Phuoc ward is surrounded by Bien Hoa city - Dong Nai province to the east, Thai Hoa ward to the west and south, Khanh Binh ward to the North.

- Tan Hiep ward is established from the whole natural area of 2,514.33 hectares and population of 17,360 of Tan Hiep commune.

Tan Hiep ward is surrounded by Uyen Hung ward and Khanh Binh ward to the east, Vinh Tan commune and Phu Chanh commune to the west, Tan Vinh Hiep commune to the south, and Hoi Nghia commune to the north.

- Khanh Binh ward is established from the whole natural area of 2,174.94 hectares and population 26,665 of Khanh Binh commune.

Khanh Binh ward is surrounded by Bach Dang commune and Uyen Hung ward to the east, Tan Hiep ward and Tan Vinh Hiep commune to the west, Thanh Phuoc ward, Tan Phuoc Khanh ward, and Thai Hoa ward to the south, Tan Hiep ward and Uyen Hung ward to the north.

c) Bac Tan Uyen district has a natural area of 40,087.67 hectares, a population of 58,439, and 10 administrative units at commune-level.

Bac Tan Uyen district is surrounded by Dong Nai Province to the east, Tan Uyen town and Bau bang district to the west, Tan Uyen town to the south, and Phu Giao district to the North.

3. Binh Nham ward of Thuan An town is established from the whole natural area of 540.98 hectares and population of 14,528 of Binh Nham commune; Hung Dinh ward of Thuan An town is established from the whole natural area of 286.56 hectares and population of 13,519 of Hung Dinh commune.

a) Khanh Binh ward has a natural area of 540.98 hectares and a population of 14,528.

Binh Nham ward is surrounded by Thuan Giao ward and Lai Thieu ward to the east, Hoc Mon district and Ho Chi Minh City to the west, Lai Thieu ward to the south, Hung Dinh ward and An Son commune to the north.

b) Hung Dinh ward has a natural area of 286.56 hectares and a population of 13,519.

Hung Dinh ward is surrounded by Thuan Giao ward to the east, An Son commune to the west, Binh Nham ward to the south, An Thanh ward to the north.

4. Chanh My ward of Thu Dau Mot City is established from the whole natural area of 690.37 hectares and population of 10,715 of Chanh My commune; Tuong Binh Hiep ward of Thu Dau Mot City is established from the whole natural area of 520.46 hectares and population of 13,352 of Tuong Binh Hiep commune; Tan An ward of Thu Dau Mot City is established from the whole natural area of 1,014.85 hectares and population of 13,374 of Tan An commune.

a) Chanh My ward has a natural area of 690.37 hectares and a population of 10,715.

Chanh My ward is surrounded by Tuong Binh Hiep ward to the north, Phu Cuong ward and Cu chi district of Ho Chi Minh City to the south, Hiep Thanh ward and Phu Cuong ward to the east, and Cu Chi district of Ho Chi Minh City to the west.

b) Tuong Binh Hiep ward has a natural area of 520.46 hectares and a population of 13,352.

Tuong Binh Hiep ward is surrounded by Tan An ward to the north, Chanh My ward to the south, Hiep An ward and Dinh Hoa ward to the east, and Cu Chi district of Ho Chi Minh City to the west.

c) Tan An ward has a natural area of 1,014.85 hectares and a population of 13,374.

Tan An ward is surrounded by Phu An commune of Ben Cat district ward to the north, Tuong Binh Hiep ward to the south, Hiep An ward to the east, and Cu Chi district of Ho Chi Minh City to the west.

5. After the administrative boundary of Ben Cat district is adjusted to establish Ben Cat town and 05 wards of Ben Cat town; after the administrative boundary of Tan Uyen district is adjusted to establish Tan Uyen Town and 6 wards of Tan Uyen town; after 2 wards of Thuan An town and 3 wards of Thu Dau Mot city, Binh Duong province are established:

a) Ben Cat town has a natural area of 23,442.24 hectares, a population of 203,420, and 08 administrative units at commune-level including 05 wards (My Phuoc, Thoi Hoa, Tan Dinh, Hoa Loi, Chanh Phu Hoa) and 3 communes (An Dien, Phu An, An Tay),

b) Bau Bang district has a natural area of 33,915.69 hectares, a population of 82,024, and 7 communes (Lai Uyen, Long Nguyen, Lai Hung, Tru Van Tho, Cay Truong II, Tan Hung, Hung Hoa),

c) Tan Uyen town has a natural area of 19,249.20 hectares, a population of 190,564, and 12 administrative units of commune-level, including 6 wards (Uyen Hung, Tan Phuoc Khanh, Thai Hoa, Thanh Phuoc, Tan Hiep, Khanh Binh) and 6 communes (Hoi Nghia, Vinh Tan, Phu Chanh, Tan Vinh Hiep, Thanh Hoi, Bach Dang),

d) Bac Tan Uyen district has a natural area of 40,087.67 hectares, a population of 58,439, and 10 communes (Tan Thanh, Tan Binh, Binh My, Tan Lap, Tan Dinh, Lac An, Hieu Liem, Dat Cuoc, Tuong Tan, Tan My),

dd) Thuan An town has a natural area of 8,426 hectares, a population of 382,034, and 10 administrative units at commune-level including 05 wards (An Thanh, Lai Thieu, Binh Chuan, An Phu, Hung Dinh, Thuan Giao, Binh Nham, Binh Hoa, Vinh Phu) and 1 commune (An Son),

e) Thu Dau Mot City has a natural area of 11,886.61 hectares, a population of 244,277, and 14 wards (Phu Cuong, Hiep Thanh, Chanh Nghia, Phu Hoa, Phu Tho, Phu Loi, Chanh My, Phu My, Tuong Binh Hiep, Tan An, Dinh Hoa, Hiep An, Hoa Phu, Phu Tan).

g) Binh Duong province has a natural area of 269,442.82 hectares, a population of 1,768,848, and 9 administrative units at district-level (Thu Dau Mot City, Di An town, Thuan An town, Ben Cat town, Tan Uyen town, Bau Bang district, Bac Tan Uyen district, Phu Giao district, Dau Tieng district) and 91 administrative units at commune levels (48 communes, 41 wards, 2 townships).

Article 2. This Resolution takes effect from the day on which it is signed.

Article 3. The Minister of Internal Affairs, the President of the People’s Committee of Binh Duong province, and Heads of relevant agencies are responsible for the implementation of this Resolution./.
