RESOLUTION

ON THE RATIFICATION OF THE UNITED NATIONS CONVENTION ON THE RIGHTS OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES

THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY OF THE SOCIALIST REPUBLIC OF VIETNAM

Pursuant to the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam;

Pursuant to Law No. 41/2005/QH11 on Conclusion of Accession tơ, and Implementation of Treaties;

At the proposal of the President in Report No. 02/TTr-CTN of June 2, 2014, on the ratification of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities;

After considering the Government’s Report No. 266/BC-CP of July 29,2014, the National Assembly External Affairs Committee’s Verification Report No. 4528/BC-UBDN13 of October 22, 2014, the Government’s Report No. 504/BC-CP of November 20, 2014, and opinions of National Assembly deputies;

RESOLVES:

Article 1.

To ratify the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, which the Socialist Republic of Vietnam signed on October 22, 2007, at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

Article 2.

The Socialist Republic of Vietnam commits to implementing the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in all domains.

Article 3.

The Government, the Supreme People’s Court, the Supreme People’s Procuracy and concerned agencies and organizations shall, within the ambit of their tasks and powers, organize the implementation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

Article 4.

The National Assembly Standing Committee, the Ethnic Council, the Committees of the National Assembly and National Assembly deputies shall supervise the implementation of this Resolution.-

This Resolution was adopted on November 28, 2014, by the XIII^th National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam at its 8^th session.-
