No: 17/2007/QD-BKHCN | Hanoi, August 31, 2007 |
DECISION
ON THE ISSUANCE OF RADIOACTIVE SOURCES CATEGOZATION COMPLYING WITH SECURITY REQUIREMENTS
MINISTER OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY
Based on the Government Decree No. 54/2003/ND-CP dated 19 May 2003 on functions, duties, authorities and organiazational mechanism of the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Government Decree No. 28/2004/ND-CP dated 16 January 2004 to modify and amend some items in 54/2003/ND-CP;
Based on the Prime Minister Decision No. 115/2007/QD-TTg dated 23 July 2007 on Regulations on radioactive sources security;
Based on the Proposal of Director General of Vietnam Agency for Radiation and Nuclear Safety and Control and Director of Legislation Deparment,
DECIDES:
Article1. To promulgate the radioactive sources categozation complying with security requirements.
Organization(s)/individual(s) that controls, uses, stores, transports radioactive sources is responsible to determine and categorize radioactive sources complying with security requirements according to the Prime Minister Decision No. 115/2007/QD-TTg dated 23 July 2007 on Regulations on radioactive sources security.
Article 2. Radioactive sources categorization complying with security requirements is based on radioactive ratio, as follows:
Group A consists of radioactive sources (or group of radioactive sources) containing radioactivity equal or over 1000.
Group B consists of radioactive sources (or group of radioactive sources) containing radioactivity from 1 to 1000.
Group C consists of radioactive sources (or group of radioactive sources) containing radioactivity from 0,01 to 1.
4. Group D consists of radioactive sources (or group of radioactive sources) containing radioactivity below 0,01.
Article 3. Radioactivity ratio stipulated in Article 2 is determined as follows:
1. For single radioactive source:
In which:
A means radioactivity of radioactive isotope corresponding with that radiocative source, calculated in TBq;
D means value expressing threat level of radioactive sources, calculated in TBq. D value is calculated in the appendix enclosed with this Decisions.
2. For group of radioactive sources:
Radioactivity ratio means the total sum of radioactivity of each source
In which:
Ai means radioactivity of radioactive isotope corresponding with that radiocative source number i, calculated in TBq;
Di means value expressing threat level of radioactive sources number i, calculated in TBq. Di value is calculated in the appendix enclosed with this Decisions.
Article 4. Afer 15 days of official release, Decisions will come in to force.
Article 5. Vietnam Agency for Radiation and Nuclear Safety and Control and other relavant organizations are responsible to implement this Decisions./.
