CIRCULAR
GUIDING RATES OF SOME MARITIME CHARGES PAYABLE BY LARGE-TONNAGE SHIPS ARRIVING AT CAI MEP - THI VAI PORT
Pursuant to Ordinance No. 38/2001/PL-UBTVQH10 of August 28. 2001, on
Charges and Fees;
Pursuant to the Government's Decree No. 118/2008/ND-CP of November 27, 2008,
defining the functions, tasks, powers and. organizational structure of the
Ministry of Finance;
Pursuant to the Government's Decree No. 24/ 2006/ND-CP of March 3, 2006,
amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree No. 57/2002/ND-CP of
June 3, 2002, detailing the Ordinance on Charges and Fees;
In furtherance of the Deputy Prime Minister's opinions in the Government
Office's Official Letter No. 2889/VPCP-QHQT of May 5. 2010, on port dues
payable by container ships arriving at Vietnamese ports;
At the proposal of the Ministry of Transport in Official Letter No.
5101/BGTVT-TC of July 28, 2010, on port dues payable by container ships
arriving at Vietnamese ports, and Official Letter No. 6797/BGTVT-TC of
September 29. 2010, on contribution of opinions to the draft circular on
maritime charges and fees;
The Ministry of Finance guides rates of some maritime charges payable by
large-tonnage ships arriving at Cai Mep - Thi Vai port as follows:
Article 1. Subjects of application
This Circular applies to cargo ships of a tonnage of 50.000 GT or more, engaged in international maritime activities and calling at Cai Mep - Thi Vai port.
Article 2. Rates of some maritime charges
Cargo ships referred to in Article 1 of this Circular shall, pay some maritime charges at the following rates:
1. Tonnage charge: -Entering: USD 0.0192/GT -Leaving: USD 0.0192/GT
2. Maritime security charge:
- Entering: USD 0.06/GT
- Leaving: USD 0.06/GT

The minimum charge payable per time of pilotage is USD 200.
Article 3. Maritime charge and fee rates. principles on charge and fee collection and other issues not provided in this Circular continue complying with the Minister of Finance's Decision No. 98/2008/QD-BTC of November 4, 2008, promulgating the Regulation on and the tariff of maritime charges and fees.
Article 4. This Circular will be effective from January 1, 2011, till the end of December 31, 2011. Any problems arising in the course of implementation should be reported by concerned units to the Ministry of Finance for consideration and settlement.-
