DECISION

ON THE AMENDMENT, SUPPLEMENT OF PARAGRAPH A AND B, ARTICLE 1 OF THE DECISION NO. 337/1998/QD-NHNN7 DATED 10 OCTOBER 1998 OF THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE BANK ON CARRYING CASH IN FOREIGN CURRENCY AND VIETNAMESE DONG UPON ENTRY INTO AND EXIT FROM THE COUNTRY

THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE BANK

- Pursuant to the Law on the State Bank of Vietnam No. 01/1997/QH10 dated 12 December 1997; the Law on the amendment, supplement of several Articles of the Law on the State Bank of Vietnam No. 10/2003/QH11 dated 17 June 2003;
- Pursuant to the Decree No. 52/2003/ND-CP dated 19 May 2003 of the Government providing for the function, assignment, authority and organizational structure of the State Bank of Vietnam;
- Pursuant to the Decree No. 63/1998/ND-CP dated 17 August 1998 of the Government on the foreign exchange control.
- Upon proposal of the Director of the Foreign Exchange Control Department.

DECIDES:

Article 1. To amend paragraph a and b, Article 1 of the Decision No. 337/1998/QD-NHNN7 dated 10 October 1998 of the Governor of the State Bank on carrying cash in foreign currency and Vietnamese Dong upon entry into and exit from the country as follows:

a. US$ 7,000 (Seven thousand United States dollars) or other foreign currencies of the same value;

b. VND 15,000,000 (Fifteen million Vietnamese Dong).

Article 2. This Decision shall be effective after 15 days since its publication in the Official Gazette.

Article 3. The Director of Administrative Department, the Director of Foreign Exchange Control Department, Heads of relevant Departments of the State Bank, General Managers of the State Bank branches in the provinces and cities and General Directors (Directors) of authorised banks shall be responsible for the implementation of this Decision.
